A GARAN label always has the same parts. Only three fields change: the guarantee period in years, the producer’s brand and the model identifier. The examples below show this for eight industries, each with the guarantees that are typical there and that do or do not trigger the label. All examples were created with our free generator. “Example Brand” is made up.

When an example fits your product
The GARAN label only belongs to a guarantee of durability that meets all five conditions: from the producer, free of charge, for the entire good, for more than two years, and the producer makes it available to you. Typical pitfalls by industry:
- Household appliances: guarantee only on the motor or compressor.
- E-bikes: guarantee only on the frame.
- Furniture and mattresses: a sleep trial is not a guarantee of durability.
- Tools: guarantee only after registration.
- Electronics: paid protection plans.
- Watches: guarantee only on the movement.
- Sports and outdoor: “lifetime” guarantees.
- Cookware: coating excluded.
You need the legal guarantee notice in every industry, with or without a producer guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a template for the GARAN label?
Yes. The official template is in Annex II of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960. It is built into the generator; you only enter years, brand and model.
May I use the example labels?
Not unchanged, because the brand and model are made up. Open the example in the generator and enter your producer’s details.
How big must the GARAN label be?
In print at least 95 × 100 mm. Online it must be clearly visible and in colour, and the nested label must open in full on the first click. Print the GARAN label
Is there an English version of the GARAN label?
There is only one version for the whole EU. It contains the line “producer guarantee in years” in all official languages, including English.
