The widget in action

There are three display options. Click the badge or the link: the full official graphic opens in a window over the page.

Create the code for your shop

Choose the display and language and copy the code. Without a language setting, the widget uses the page language (<html lang>); if that is missing too, it shows German. The official graphic is available in all 24 EU languages. The short wording of the badge and the link is available in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch, and in English for all other languages.

GARAN label in the widget

If the producer gives a commercial guarantee of durability of more than two years free of charge, the GARAN label belongs on the product page. This is how the widget shows it as well:

1. Create the label
   Enter the years, brand and model in the GARAN label generator, free and without sign-up.
2. Copy the embed code
   With a free account, the code for the product page appears below the finished label. The images are hosted permanently by us, so you upload nothing.
3. Paste it
   The widget shows the nested version, and one click opens the full label, as the regulation requires. It also adds the clickable link to the QR code’s destination directly below.

Prefer your own files? Then upload the full and the nested version to your shop’s media library and enter the addresses in data-garan-voll and data-garan-klein. If your shop already shows the legal guarantee notice elsewhere, data-nur="garan" hides it in the widget.

Because the GARAN label differs from product to product, the two addresses belong in the product template, ideally taken from a product field of your shop system.

Marketplaces

Marketplaces do not run your own scripts. eBay, Etsy and Kaufland show the labels themselves from your details; what you need to enter is on these pages:

Your own shop

Put the placeholder <div data-garantielabel></div> in the product template and load the script once per page, ideally before </body>. You can use several placeholders on one page. If you load content dynamically, call window.garantielabelWidget.rendern() afterwards.

Shopify: use the app instead

The widget shows nothing in Shopify shops. There, our Shopify app is the better choice: it adds the notice to the product page, cart and footer without coding, assigns producer guarantees to products and adds the graphic with a PDF download to the order confirmation.

What the widget does not cover

• Order confirmation: According to the Commission’s guidelines, the notice should also appear in the confirmation email. The form is not regulated; a PDF attachment is a safe way. You will find the files on our download page. More on this
• Placement: You decide where the notice appears by placing the placeholder. The Commission’s guidelines give the catalogue page, the page header and the checkout page as examples. Where the notice belongs
• Content of the GARAN label: The producer is responsible for the guarantee duration, brand and model. The widget shows what the producer has published.

Privacy and technology

The widget sets no cookies, stores nothing in the browser and does not count visitors. It renders in an isolated area (Shadow DOM), so it neither changes your design nor is changed by your CSS. The script and graphics come from our server at Cloudflare. As with any embedded content, Cloudflare sees the visitor’s IP address. So mention the widget in your privacy policy. If you want no third-party content at all, download the official files from our download page and embed them yourself.
