When do I need the GARAN label?

When the producer offers a free commercial guarantee of durability of more than two years on the entire good and tells you about it. The GARAN label then belongs to that exact product. The five conditions

What is the legal guarantee notice?

The standard EU graphic that traders use to remind consumers of the legal guarantee of at least two years. Its official name is the “harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity”, laid down in Annex I of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960. Read more

Since when has the legal guarantee notice been mandatory?

Since 27 September 2026, for everyone selling goods to consumers in the EU. There is no transition period.

Can I adapt the graphic to my shop design?

No. None of the elements of the notice can be edited, and online it must be in colour. You may only design the way to it, for example a badge that opens the full graphic on click.

I don’t use Shopify. What now?

Add the legal guarantee notice to WooCommerce, Shopware, Wix or any other shop with our free widget, or download the official files in 24 languages.
