A printed GARAN label must be at least 95 × 100 mm. Larger is allowed if the label stays complete and undistorted. In shops and on paper you may print in colour or black and white; online, colour is mandatory. For the print shop, the easiest option is the print PDF at exactly 95 × 100 mm.

Tips for the print shop
- Never smaller than 95 × 100 mm. When enlarging, lock the aspect ratio so that nothing is distorted.
- Test the QR code before printing. Scan a test print with your phone. Do not crop the code and keep it on a light background.
- Black and white: use the black-and-white file. It is the official version for single-colour printing. Converting a colour file to greyscale produces a different graphic.
- Pure black for text and QR code. Our recommendation: print black from the K channel only, not as rich black. This keeps fine lines and the QR code sharp.
- Font in the SVG. Almost all elements are paths. Guarantee duration, brand and model are text set in Inter, which is embedded in the file. Design programs that cannot read embedded web fonts will show a substitute font. Install Inter (free, SIL Open Font License) and convert the text to outlines before printing, or use the print PDF. There, the font is part of the image and cannot go missing.
Where the printed label belongs
If you sell in a physical shop, the GARAN label belongs with the goods for which the producer offers a commercial guarantee of durability of more than two years at no additional cost. The regulation leaves open exactly where; the shelf, the price tag or the packaging are obvious choices. Online, it goes directly next to the product image (recital 28 of Directive (EU) 2024/825). Frequently asked questions
How big must a printed GARAN label be?
At least 95 × 100 mm (Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2025/1960). Larger is allowed if the label stays complete and undistorted.
May I print the GARAN label in black and white?
In print, yes; there is an official black-and-white version for this. Online, the label must be in colour.
Which font does the GARAN label need?
Inter in the weights Regular, SemiBold and ExtraBold. It is included in our files; only design programs that cannot read embedded web fonts need Inter installed.
May I print the label smaller if there is no room on the packaging?
The regulation sets 95 × 100 mm as the minimum size for print. It does not provide for a smaller printed version; the nested short form is only allowed online in distance selling.
