In Jimdo Creator, you add the widget as a “Widget/HTML” element directly below the store item. There it mainly adds the GARAN label, which Jimdo says it does not currently offer. In the Jimdo Website Builder, custom code is not possible, so the built-in notice remains.
The code for Jimdo

Step by step in Jimdo
- Creator or Website Builder?
If the editor’s address starts with cms.e.jimdo.com, you are using Jimdo Creator. In the Website Builder (builder.e.jimdo.com), you cannot add custom code. - Add the element
On the product’s page, below the store item, choose “Add Element” → “More elements and Add-ons” → “Widget/HTML”. - Paste the code
Paste the widget code, for a GARAN label with the addresses indata-garan-vollanddata-garan-klein, and save. - Load the script centrally
If you like, add the line withwidget.jsonce under Menu → Settings → “Edit Head”. Then each product’s element only needs the placeholder.
Things to know about Jimdo
- Jimdo shows the legal guarantee notice itself at checkout, as a link in the footer and as a PDF attached to the order confirmation. In Creator, the setting is under Store → Settings → “Terms, Return Policy, etc.”.
- The Jimdo help does not say whether “Widget/HTML” and “Edit Head” are available on every Creator plan.
- According to Jimdo, the Website Builder allows neither HTML nor JavaScript nor external widgets, on any plan. For a GARAN label, the only option there is to switch to Creator.
Legal guarantee notice in the order confirmation
According to the Commission’s guidelines, the notice should also appear in the confirmation email. Jimdo automatically attaches the legal guarantee notice as a PDF to the order confirmation. The Jimdo help does not say whether you can also add a graphic such as the GARAN label to the email. A plain link is unlikely to count as a durable medium (CJEU, Case C-49/11, Content Services); the safest way is to put the notice directly in the email as an image, text or attachment. You will find the official files on our download page.

Producer guarantee? Then add the GARAN label
If the producer gives a commercial guarantee of durability of more than two years free of charge for the whole good, the GARAN label also belongs on the product page. With the GARAN label generator you create it in seconds from years, brand and model, free and without sign-up. With a free account, you get an embed code with permanent image URLs below the finished label: you upload nothing and paste it into Jimdo as shown above.
Prefer your own files? Then upload the full and the nested version to the media library of Jimdo and enter the addresses in the widget code:
<div data-garantielabel
data-garan-voll="https://…/GARAN-MX-500.svg"
data-garan-klein="https://…/GARAN-MX-500-nested.svg"></div>The widget then shows the nested version below the legal guarantee notice, and one click opens the full GARAN label.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the widget if Jimdo already shows the notice?
Jimdo shows it at checkout and in the footer, not on the product page. Jimdo does not offer the GARAN label at all at the moment; in Creator, the widget is the solution for that.
Where exactly do I place the widget?
As a separate element directly below the store item on the same page.
Does it work in the Website Builder?
No. The Website Builder does not allow custom code. There, Jimdo only shows the built-in legal guarantee notice.
