What is the GARAN label?
The GARAN label is the EU’s harmonised label for the commercial guarantee of durability. Directive (EU) 2024/825 introduced it, and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 lays down its design and content. Since 27 September 2026, traders show it when the producer offers a commercial guarantee of durability of more than two years, free of charge, for the whole good.

Which fields can be edited?
Annex II of the regulation allows exactly three changes. Everything else is fixed.

The font is Inter, also for the editable fields. The generator replaces only these three fields in the Commission’s template.
Online, in print and nested
- Online the label must be in colour.
- In print (packaging, shop, leaflets) it may be in colour or black and white. The minimum size is 95 × 100 mm.
- Nested display is allowed online only. If you use it, the full label must appear on the first mouse click, mouse roll-over or touch-screen expansion.

Embed instead of upload
Online, the label may be nested, but then it must appear in full on the first click, roll-over or touch (Annex II). An image alone cannot do that. Below every label the generator gives you a ready-made snippet: nested version, full label on the first click, the clickable link underneath, optionally together with the legal guarantee notice. The images are hosted permanently by us, so there is nothing to upload and the address never changes. The embed code comes with a free account. It works in every shop system that allows custom HTML, such as WooCommerce, Shopware, Magento, PrestaShop or Webflow.

The regulation fixes where the QR code leads: https://europa.eu/youreurope/commercial-guarantee-durability/index.htm. Nobody scans their own screen, so the Commission’s guidelines recommend a clickable link to the same page next to the label online. The generator shows the ready-made HTML below the label.

Frequently asked questions
Is the GARAN label generator free?
Yes. Single labels are free and without watermark. Without sign-up you download SVG and PNG, with a free account also PDF and WebP. Credits are only needed for CSV upload and the API.
Is this an official tool of the European Commission?
No. It is an independent tool. It uses the Commission’s template from Annex II of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 and replaces only the three editable fields.
Which details do I need?
Three: the duration of the producer’s guarantee in years (more than two, whole or half years), the name of the producer offering the guarantee and the model identifier.
Can I use the black-and-white version online?
No. Online the label must be in colour. Black and white is allowed for contracts concluded offline, for example on packaging or in a shop.
When do I have to show the GARAN label?
When the producer offers a commercial guarantee of durability of more than two years, free of charge, for the whole good. Without such a guarantee the label must not be used.
